Headset won't work

If it's a Bluetooth headset, try going into the phone's Bluetooth settings, select the headset from the paired list, then see if it's set to only call audio. There should be a toggle for call audio, and another for media (I.e. video and music audio), which you can set based on your preferences.

Is this a USB headset that's intended for PCs? I'm not sure how compatible those are with Android phones.

How well do you know these headphones? Have you had them for awhile, do they work with other devices, have they ever worked?

What is the connection type with these headphones? 3.5mm, USB-C, USB-C or 3.5mm adapted?

When plugged in and the symbol appears, is this in the notification bar? What happens if you press the symbol, do you go to options for the device? What are those options?

What brand are the headphones?

Yes, I think it is designed to make "internet calls" from a computer

no, it is wired

Yes, I have used them before making internet calls and Zoom calls and they work. I have noticed that the volume and mute buttons do not light up when connected to my phone, but do when connected to PC when in use.

It is a USB connection, but use adaptor to get to connect to 3.5mm jack on my cell phone

Yeah top bar along with battery level clock and other push button notifications. I don't think pressing headset symbol does anything. I don't see any options to go to for the headset on my phone

I think it is Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset
