I have been reading over the forums and have a question about rooting my AT&T Samy GS3.

I want to root my device so that i can

  1. Run "vanila" Jelly Bean
  2. Get rid of bloat ware
  3. be able to tether and wifi hot spot (with out paying AT&T extra money)
  4. "Turn On" Google Wallet
I was just wondering if I will be able to do these things if i root my phone

and what the basic process will be to achieve these goals.

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi pdelponte
If you root will be able to do all that i have the att s3 and i am debloated but if you are going to debloat be careful what you remove and frezze before you uninstall(ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP)

for the vanilla JB you can but i havent seen much yet for the att vrrsion of jb rom but if you find one you could and there will be if not now in the near future.

You can actually teather with or without root useing foxfi in the play store

I do currently have my google wallet on and to do that you will need root i can point you to the tutorial if you would like

Awesome, Thanks for the response.

please provide the link to the tutorial you mentioned

also can you provide a link on how to backup (i know that is probably the most important part of rooting)
