Heart rate cuts out for most the workout

Why does my watch, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, have the heart rate cut out for many minutes or most the workout? It makes me so mad. I expected better from a $200+ watch. That's the main reason i got a smartwatch. I rebooted it the other day. Have all the updates installed.

Does it fit TIGHT on your wrist? When on a workout if the watch moves around the sensor doesn't make contact with your skin (and sweat also gets in and interferes with the reading) and can't get an accurate reading. I had the same issue with mine and tightening one more position 'fixed' it (it's not broken if, as the late Steve Jobs famously stated, "you're using it wrong").

I tried that plus holding it tight with my other hand to see if it needs to be tighter. Doesn't make a difference. I wash my watch every other day.

If it's still under warranty I'd change it. If the watch is correctly making contact with the skin and is not directly over bone, it should be able to get a continuous reading throughout the workout (the only time it doesn't is when it auto-detects a workout)

I called tech support a few months ago about heart rate inaccuracies and cutting out but they was no help they had nothing to do in the computer unless it quits working altogether then they can do something. that's what the lady told me on the phone. she has no options in the computer for warranty repair unless it quits altogether. I've also exchanged it last October as well. No different. and i just read in the samsung forum others with the same problem.

I've had the same issues with mine. If I recall I never had the issue until an update last summer. I can be on a stationary bike with very little movement of my hands and it loses contact. I ended up spinning it so it's sits on the inside of my wrist and that seems to work better.

Ah, so might have been the update? When I had mine it only had that issue until I adjusted the band. Then I had no issues and I currently don't have that with the Watch 3.

I just got my first watch in July or August. Can't remember which month. So i don't know if it was a update or not.
