Hi folks,

My friend is fool and decided to drop her S4 and cracked the digitiser. Does anybody know of a way in which somebody could access the handset via usb to read/write sms, view calender etc? I tried a few 'Android PC Suites' for her but they all seem to need USB De-bugging to be turned on, which with no access to the screen cannot be done! She can unlock her screen via the 'Find My Mobile' part of the Samsung website and receive calls using the headset.

The issue is the calender and the sms messages!

Can anybody be of service for her??

If she's using the native calendar app, that should be Google Calendar https://www.google.com/calendar/render

Can't help you on the SMS, though - if she didn't back them up, all the apps I know require USB Debug.

She should be able to use Kies and back up her SMS. I don't know if it can be done with a damaged screen.
Kies can be downloaded t the Samsung website.
