Hi!
I have a oneplus 12 oxygen 15 that I used to take some video footage. I was running out of space and bought a flash drive to move my files onto it. The flash drive appears to be defective and now my files are gone. These files were written onto the phone harddrive on Nov 22 2025. Google photos didn't back it up. How can I still recover these files? I installed Gallery app after the fact to see if maybe online instructions could help that claim to simply select restore or such nut that didn't work either! Please help me asap before more time goes by minimizing any chance they may still be somewhere to be recovered! Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forums. I have never used a jump/flash drive with my phone. Usually, with any transfer to another drive it's a copy to. are you sure it was a copy not a cut?

Welcome to Android Central! See if this helps: [Guide] Recovering Deleted Files - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

Where did you get this flash drive from? If it was surprisingly cheap for the size, there's a good chance it's counterfeit (i.e., it has much less space than it claims to have). This is unfortunately fairly common , especially on shady marketplaces like Aliexpress and Temu. With drives like that, if you exceed the actual storage capacity, it may cause data loss (e.g., if the drive claims to be 256 GB but is actually only 32 GB, once you store more than 32 GB on it, it may crash).

Welcome to AC!
I can't help much to recover but future wise back important things in multiple places and cloud storage to prevent this again.
