Good afternoon!
I've had my HTC Inspire 4G for almost 1 week now...It's a NICE...very NICE phone (compared to my older "DUMB" phone). Although I'm an "old" guy~49, I still like playing games (on my phone). I've got mixed feelings on adding SWM to this hot lil baby. I DEFINATELY DO NOT want to "root" my phone. Please forgive me if I speak foolishly; I am a NOOB when it comes to cell phones...especially "SMART" phones.
I've plenty of games loaded on my microSD card but of course I get the "Install blocked" message when I try to put them on the phone. So I asked around (remember I'm a NOOB) to discover how to change the settings to allow the install. On the "older" SMART phones the settings allow for 3rd party apps; but unfortunately, my phone DOES NOT have that setting. (Which brings me to why I joined your site...but that's in a minute). Some of my coworkers suggested "ROOTING" my phone; but from my experience with other electronic devices (and modding them), I DID NOT WANT TO ALTER this BRAND new phones software files...( and void my warranty so soon). Then I stumbled on your site, which described a SWM. My curiousity was peeked. I also read your related article "?AT&T confirms non-market app installs coming to existing phones" which described how AT&T was about to automatically update the NEWER SMART phones to provide AT&T Android customers access to third-party application stores. I am hopeful that this change will be coming soon (and very soon). Sorry to bore you with my story on my 1st post but THANK YOU for being here and providing information.
Is there any update on the AT&T 3RD PARTY UPDATE?
