My wife and I switched from palm pres to HTC Evo 4Gs about 8 months ago. In order to get any functionality out of the Pre, it was definitely necessary to 'mod' phone through Preware, patches and homebrew apps. I liked WebOS, but the hardware was crap- so I was relieved that we switched over to the EVO. The support on the Precentral.net forum, however, was phenomenal.
Now that I've had the EVO for a while (on my second one, washed the first one...) the little quirks of the phone are starting to add up and we are looking more and more into the option of rooting. I guess the main issues center around app storage, as my wife is about to throw hers into the fish tank if she gets another 'Low disk space' warning.
So, I'm here to learn about rooting and any other little tidbit of knowledge I can pick up from the forums. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I know that if i can't fix wifey's phone, she's gonna switch over to an iPhone, bleh..
