Hi! Like the title says this is my first android device. It is an Asus Infinity 700 tablet, and it rocks!
I am really falling in love with this thing, beautiful screen, super fast, and the keyboard dock which I haven't picked up yet but will soon here, need it for school that was a big selling point for me. I plan on using it combined with Evernote during classes. I had a first gen Ipad which was handed down to me and an ipod, and quite frankly I am sick and tired of Apple's policies on how you can use the device that I PAID FOR. I mean its my money and these things are expensive.I mean no mass storage device capability, seriously? I also used to love blackberry phones, I still like the way the new bold (9900?) looks and like the security and physical keyboard, but I am tired of waiting around for them to get it right, they have had enough time. I have had many blackberry phones but I am not waiting any more for them to keep up. Now all I hear about is "oh blackberry 10!" well they have been saying that about every upgrade and every upgrade falls short. I am now officially in love with Android.
Speaking of phones and why I brought that up is because I am in the market for a new one. My top choices right now are the HTC one X or the Samsung Galaxy III (pebble blue). Any suggestions or feedback on these two would be great. I have been listening to android central podcast lately, just listened to the latest with guest Kevin from crackberry, about security. When I purchase my new phone I think I will give the Google two step authentication process a go.
I am in school right now for computer science - Network Systems Administrator and will probably couple that with some programming classes. As for right now I am checking up on rooting and what that is all about. So far here is a list of my favorite apps I have found for my new tablet.
Evernote
Dropbox (love it)
TuneIn Radio
Podkicker
Skype
ES File Explorer
MX Player and Power Amp (bought the full version)
and HD Widgets (beautiful and really makes my tablet home screen look a lot more professional in my opinion)
Thanks for tuning in and listening, be chatting with you all soon!
