Welcome to Android Central! Check out this thread if you haven't already: http://forums.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/141534-blackberry-users-guide-android.html

Don't you think that's outdated, it is from Feb 2012, someone needs to make some changes to that.
I think overall it gives you a great preview of what to expect on Android (and honestly you would have to be living under a rock or a cave to not know half of the stuff listed in that guide) however it is missing the point for people who are switching from BB recently, especially after trying (or even coming from) a BB10 device.

It's nice, it's just that I think it needs an update, but then again, come to think of it, there hasn't been a major change to Android since 4 was released. One would think at least the stock e-mail client would be improved so that suggestion of 3rd party e-mail apps would be irrelevant, but no, google assumes everyone is using gmail anyway. Unless the device manufacturer actually did something to the stock e-mail software, it is really essential that one pay for a premium exchange client like touchdown which is another $20 expense.

I am a long time BB user, trying out various aspects of Android, trying to determine if it is a worthy opponent to Blackberry in the field of productivity. Surely, BB cannot compete in entertainment or catalog of apps, but I still find Blackberry the best in productivity if you rely on a corporate service such as Exchange, and use Outlook heavily.

Yes, these guides are a little outdated, but it's still a reasonable resource to link to. Not being a Blackberry user, I wouldn't feel qualified to update the guide--perhaps another volunteer might be willing to.

You are correct in that there haven't been monumental quantum changes in Android since 4.0, but in my opinion, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Huge shifts inevitably lead to big problems with compatibility and/or glitchy untested software (see iOS7 and BB Playbook 1). I think Android hit upon a good UI and design language starting with 4.0, and has been improving it in small and not-so-small steps since then. Many changes have been under the hood, so they're not as visible.

Your dissatisfaction with the stock email client is understandable, and BB's email capabilities are hard to match by anyone, given that that has been their bread and butter since the beginning. But stock Android apps have always been fairly basic, because Android's openness gives you greater flexibility to try various other apps that are available in Google Play and elsewhere. This is also seen with music apps--historically, stock Android music players have been boring, basic, ugly affairs, but some of the 3rd party players out there are simply phenomenal

I hope you can find an ideal mobile solution if Android doesn't quite fit the bill!

Update,
Touchdown has been working beautifully, do not waste your time with anything like k9, maildroid, etc if you are using Exchange. I love touchdown, there are still few things they need to iron out but overall it is pretty good, i'd say. I am staying with android a bit more, and waiting to see Z30 (if it EVER makes it to AT&T)
