I am considering moving to a Samsung Continuum from an HTC Imagio (WinMo) which I love dearly. With my WinMo 6.5 phone I am able to tether both wired and wireless using my data package, unlimited, with no need to pay the extra $20 to Verizon for a whole lousy 2gb.
I am hoping to be able to do the same with the Continuum, I think I need to root it first, and install an application, but I am unsure and a bit confused how to do either.
Will I be able to use the regular Android Marketplace? Rooting is like SU on Linux, correct? So I should just be moving files around? What application should use to root, and what application for tethering?
The only reason I am interested in rooting is for the data package tether. I currently use the $30 Verizon data package.
Any and all help is very welcome. I cannot afford the Fascinate, and my daughter has the Continuum, which I absolutely fell in love with.
