Hello SMS & Visual Voicemail

Hey guys, random Q here. So I started using Hello SMS app which I really liked. The only issue I had with it was it stopped my visual voicemail app from notifing me and started sending me texts from verizon notifiing me of a new visual voicemail and told me to click on the visual voicemail app to reinstall it. I tried clearing cache, logging off/on with the voicemail app (its preinstalled so no way to uninstall) and nothing helped except for uninstalling Hello SMS and then the notifications came back directing me to the Visual VM app. I have contacted the developer and havent heard back yet so I thought I would see if any of you smart people here might have an idea what is causing the issue between the apps.
