I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I just bought my wife a Hero (she didn't want the Evo) and wanted to check out this site. I plan on *attempting* to root her phone when it arrives next week so I'm sure I'll be asking for help. I've already begun reading threads re: rooting, etc. and will try not to ask too many noob questions. Personally, I have a Palm Pre and it is well hacked. Some of the terminology I've come across so far is confusing, i.e. ROMs, etc., but I'll hopefully figure it out.

Anyway, what are some recommended apps that she might like? She and I both are not familiar w/ the Android market. I'm looking forward to being on here quite a bit and learning what I can.

Im not really sure which apps to recommend,but there is a nice android central widget in the market that i like to use just to see whats going on with android central.

Again, thanks for the nice welcome! Qdigga...I'll take a look at that list soon with the wife. She's already loaded some apps on her phone that piqued her interest. I plan on delving into the unknown (for me anyways) of rooting her device. I have my Palm Pre rooted currently and it's just the way I like it. After reading several threads on this site in regards to rooting the Hero, it seems quite a bit more difficult than my Pre. I'll figure it out though and if I have questions you guys will be the first to know.

Its actually quite easy, i am sure youll have no problems. And if you do ask away. This is by far the best forum ive encountered. Its rated number 1 in n00b friendly as well!!
