Im having some big issues with my droid eris. It started recently, my phone reboots itself each time i close out of an application. And by reboot i mean the screen goes black all but the white HTC letters like if i had shut it down and restarted it. I tried to Turn it off and took out the battery but the problem persists.

I have another problem, i believe it is because of the track ball getting stuck but my screen scrolls to the left continuously. its rather annoying, especially when typing.

Any help would be amazing. I dont know if there is anything that can be done short of a new phone. So if you know anything just let me know. Thanks.

The first problem that you mentions just sounds like the Sense launcher is restarting itself. It's not rebooting but, for some reason, Android is closing the launcher and it needs to restart when you go back home. You can try to go into settings->manage applications, wait for it to refresh, menu->sort by size, and tap on each app to tap the button "delete cache" if there is any cache taking up space.

All that said, though, I'm afraid that the scrolling left issue is a hardware fault with the trackball, which is a pretty common problem. Some people are able to solve the problem by inserting a usb cable and *gently* wiggling it up and down (or, front-to-back). The cable socket is right underneath the trackball and I guess it's common for it to cause a short on the control, but wiggling may reset the connection. Otherwise, you're probably going to have to do a warranty replacement.
