Hello everyone, I’m a beginner who enjoys customizing my phone’s theme. A few days ago, I downloaded Robo Icon Changer from Google Play to replace some of the default icons.
I followed the tutorial step by step:
Granted the app all required permissions (including "modify system settings").
Successfully changed icons using the app’s built-in icon pack or selecting images from my gallery.
The icons on the home screen changed immediately and everything seemed to work fine.
But here’s the issue, every time I restart my phone, all the icons I changed with Robo Icon Changer revert to the original system defaults! They only return to my customized versions after I open Robo Icon Changer again. This is really inconvenient—I don’t want to have to open the app every time I restart my phone.
What I’ve already tried, made sure battery optimization is turned off for the app and allowed background activity. Tried using different launchers (Nova Launcher, Microsoft Launcher), but the problem persists. Reinstalled the app and re-granted all permissions.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S23, running One UI 6.0 (Android 14). I’m wondering if this could be due to system restrictions.
Thanks!
