Help! Brand new Razr M won't unlock

My Razr M is a week old, and suddenly the unlock screen won't react to my touch. Is this because of a missing update, is it a hardware issue, or anything else? I live in an area with lots of adverse weather conditions, so it's not good to have a phone that I can't even unlock.

Did you try holding down the power button and volume down button at the same time to reboot the phone?
