Help i want to switch to the droid incredible but for my job i haveto be on internet and be able to talk on phone at the same time. Can this phone do that on a verizon phone plan.

You can't do this on ANY Verizon phone unless you're on wifi.

Not just Verizon. Any carrier that uses CDMA, you'd need a GSM phone or Wi-Fi as others have mentioned.

I had no idea people actually cared about this feature.

In fact, I always thought (and still do) that this was the dumbest marketing campaign of all time (by AT&T).

Seriously, there can't be many people out there who think to themselves, "Hmmm, what phone do I want. Well, I definitely need one that allows me to surf the web while talking."

Just terrible.

I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case... I get calls from work when I'm out and about.them I have to access email...the web... Spreadsheets online etc...
So simultaneous voice data is a need for me.

Best stay with AT&T then, because like it was said earlier CDMA doesn't allow simultaneous voice and data it's a limitation of the carrier technology. I always thought it was a dumb campaign too because I have not once heard anyone say, "whew glad I was able to get on the internet to check that or I would have been in deep trouble"....lol guess that would be Incrediboy though. Too bad you are missing out on one hell of a phone.

I'm another person that would find simultaneous voice and data useful. I really want this capability but not bad enough for me to switch to AT&T. I've heard this will be possible on Verizon when they move to 4G, does anyone know if there is any truth to that?

NP Qaz.. I carry 2 phones... on different providers for the purpose of maintaining connectivity.

I am back and forth between replacing my current secondary with the Dell Streak and the Nexus One on ATT. Of course.. I'm now tormented by the rumors of the N2 coming out soon.

I'd like a larger screen.. but there is nothing like being kept up to date w/ the OS and all the new goodies...
Any opinions?

It'll definitely be possible with 4G.

Yeah 4G is a huge step forward for CDMA and GSM technology. Can't wait for it to come about as there will be a big change in phones and what they can handle. Going to be nice!
