AC Question

I just changed my comcast email password and now I can't get my emails on my Galaxy Note 5 email app. I've followed instructions to the letter on how to setup up the incoming server (imap.comcast.net, SSL, 993) and the outgoing server (smtp.comcast.net, SSL, 587). I've tried the alternative port numbers, tried username and full email addresses. NOTHING WORKS.

I spoke to Comcast (useless), Sprint (useless), and Samsung (useless). What am I doing wrong???

That's not much to go on.

First things first. Are you getting any kind of error? Often that will give you a direction for troubleshooting. It may even identify the specific issue.

If not, then I'd likely proceed like this.

1. If there are no errors, and the phone just isn't grabbing your email, look to see if any of the settings in the mail client changed from the last time that it all worked.
2. Are you able to get mail from other accounts? If not, then the problem is likely not with your account settings.
3. Delete the account from the device.
4. Open your recent apps (left of the home button). Tap CLOSE ALL.
5. In SETTINGS/APPLICATIONS/APPLICATION MANAGER, find your mail client and hit FORCE STOP. Then tap STORAGE, and CLEAR CACHE.
6. In SETTINGS/STORAGE, select INTERNAL STORAGE. Scroll down to and tap CACHED DATA, then DELETE.
7. Reboot.
8. Add your email account.
