Hi, My husband has tasked me with finding him a new phone. I'm a windows phone user and don't know much about androids. We're switching to t-mobile from Verizon and would prefer to buy unlocked. Our max price is $300 USD. Lower price is always a plus as long as the phone functions smoothly! I don't think band 12 is available to us here in St. Louis, so I guess it only needs band 2 and 4?
He's currently using a Verizon branded Samsung Galaxy s5. It's (mostly) functional but pretty beat up and he'd just like something new. He really only uses his phone to watch video's, check email and use discord. The only game he play's is word's with friends, so I don't think he really needs a flagship phone. He prefers a removable battery and a wants a camera that can snap a decent picture of our 3 year old.
I've been looking at Asus Zenphone Laser ZE551KL, Alcetal One Touch Idol 3 and the Moto X Pure. Could anyone offer some insights into these phones or perhaps recommend other options? The price of the Moto X Pure may be a deal breaker, as my husband would prefer to spend less.
Also, I've read conflicting reports of whether the Verizon Branded Samsung Galaxy S5 will work completely on T-Mobile's network. Can anyone confirm if it will work? He may be willing to just keep his current phone if it does. Thank you!
