Alright, as some of you know, I'm currently working on a kernel for my custom rom using the Optimus V kernel sources from LG, a virtual machine running openSUSE 11.4, and 2 different prebuilt toolchains (one from the froyo-branch of the Android, the other from CodeSourcery). Right now, I'm stuck at the following:

CC kernel/panic.o
/tmp/cc9LZz3V.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/cc9LZz3V.s:591: Error: selected processor does not support `ldrexb r0,[r2]'
/tmp/cc9LZz3V.s:592: Error: selected processor does not support `strexb r1,r3,[r2]'
make[1]: *** [kernel/panic.o] Error 1
make: *** [kernel] Error 2
biafra@linux-8bgg:~/work/kernel-stock>

Just for fun, I tried this with the latest Xionia Kernel git sources from the 'virginmobile' branch, and it gives the same error.

Where am I going wrong people?

Where am I going wrong.

shouldn't be an issue? Suse is based of slackware?

This guide helped me a lot when I compiled. Building Kernel from source - CyanogenMod Wiki

Obviously just change your repos. I'd assume you need a different ccompiler. if you want post your commands and output on pastebin.com I'll try to take alook at it.
