I'm hoping that some one can help me because it appears that potentially my default music app is not being save or its a Runkeeper bug. I logged a fault with Runkeeper but that basically told me that as a individual users that my issue is not important....nice response lucky the application is free. Please any help appreciated its really annoying to have to go through 6 screens to use an application....probably should just jettison run keeper.

I've read in the Runkeeper blog that Runkeeper 3.x permits Runkeeper kicking off a play list without leaving the application but I simply can not get my 3.4 version of Runkeeper to kick off anything in application.

Device: Samsung S4 GT-I9505
Android Version: 4.2.2.

Runkeeper version: 3.4

If I hit the "music cleft" in Actionbar I get a popup that states "Complete action using". This provides 2 options "Music" (native app) and "Goodle Play Music". These then have an option of selecting "Always" or "Just Once". If I select "Music" and then "Always" i get a prompt that states "Clear Defaults: Clear default app settings by going to Settings>Applications>manager>All". Hitting "OK" here takes me to the music app and out of Runkeeper.

This sequence happens every time. The selection of "Always" does not seem to be remembered or perhaps the Runkeeper application does not save the selection. It certainly does not permit staying within the application or permit nominating a playlist. The constant answer questions to get music is painful. I've checked the Settings>Applications>All for both applications and "Music" states that it has some default configurations while the "Google Play" does not. I've tried resetting the applications and going through the sequence but it remains the same.

Am I doing something incorrect here or does RunKeeper 3.4 have a bug??

Weird, I have the almost opposite problem with Runkeeper 3.8. I set Google Music to the default, and now it just won't go away. I went to apps/Google Music and cleared the lauch by default settings. Runkeeper still launches it. So then I rebooted the phone. No worky. Then I uninstalled Google Music. Runkeeper then says it can't find Google Music. So in apps/Runkeeper I clear the cache, and deleted all data. Still says it can't find Google Music. So I uninstalled RK and it still says it can't find Google Music. Any thoughts on how I can fix this?

I have the exact same issue with my galaxy S4. I tried to put runkeeper on a split screen so that I could access both music and runkeeper at the same time, but runkeeper doesn't support a split screen. The only way I've found to get around the problem is to start my music playlist first, and then load runkeeper. Would love to know if anyone else has figured out a better solution.

Just moved over from iphone to Samsung Galaxy note 3. Exact same problems. Selected once when prompted for music slection to use Google Play. Now can't even open Runkeeper just launches google play each time. Really stuck as still learning my way around andriod. Worried I made mistake in moving away from iPhone!

I keep a dedicated iPhone for running only, but I wish they'd fix this! Several versions ago, you selected a playlist and it would auto-start upon starting your run. The app went backwords!
