help for white backgrounds on lollypop

Just updated ( all the prompts made me feel like i had to) and already the white backgrounds are driving me nuts! I've googled for a solution and I know it is a common complaint but I can't find a solution which makes me concerned that there isn't one!

You will need to root your phone and install a custom ROM with a black background.

I set mine up to toggle from light to dark by triple-clicking the Home Key . Settings > Accessibility > Direct Access (On) > Negative Colors (enabled).

It's not always ideal, but has come in handy on occasion.
