Hello all...don't post much in here so if I posted something already covered I apologize. Having a bunch of forcecloses. I tried opening my phone app earlier today and it wouldn't work. So I did a battery pull and that's when the trouble started. Upon turning my phone on it went through the process like it does when you first turn it on. Got out of that and it brought me to my normal home screen. However I had a bunch of issues with forceclosing, especially with Swype. So I turned it if and that seemed to fix it. However over half my games/apps had been deleted. Of those that were still there some would foreclose when I tried to open them and others would forceclose after being open for a bit and others had deleted all of my saved game data/presets/settings. I've tried deleting some that are forceclosing and then opening them but it still seems to forceclose on me. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

sounds like a corruption that I had a few times. My only way out of it was a factory reset and reload everything.

good luck.

It may or may not be swype. So, is swype the only installed app(s) you have on the phone other than the preset ones? I change battery on my phone throughout the day.. since I'm not home and I've never add any problems

Any task killer installed on the phone?

No, I have a bunch of apps on there. Swype is the only one outside the market I have installed. Um yeah I do but I honestly never use it so ill definitely will be uninstalling it.

I believe your problem is coming from somewhere else, but if you believe that swype is the culprit then remove it. I have swype, gingerbread, and stock keyboards all on my phone without issues.

Reboot the phone that may work. Resetting the phone should be your last resort if everything else fails.

Not necessarily saying its Swype, just have read somewherethat someone had some people have had issues with it but Idk...not really wanting to do the reset but may have to as the apps still forceclose...

You can try going into settings>applications>manage applications>all>and open each app that has been FC on you and clear data and cache in each. After reboot the phone and see if it works. If your still having issues a factory reset is your only other option.

Yeah just bit the bullet and did the complete wipe. So far so good. It ironically fixed the issue with the native HTC mail client. Lol. Another question, thoughts on Lookout MobileSecurity app?

Sometimes these issues can be caused by a corrupt dalvik cache. If you're rooted and have Amon RA or Clockwork recoveries installed, wiping the dalvik cache can fix this. I don't know of a way to do this without root :(
