I just bought my first ever android phone and the installed keyboard app is killing me!! the keypad is so small and I frequently make mistakes. can you guys recommend any other keyboard app that's available for download? Thanks in advance :)

SwiftKey 3 is amazing, I highly recommend it

Swiftkey is what I currently use.

I used to use Ultimate Keyboard but even though it had swype capabilities was a bit buggy.

Many out there but Swiftkey gets my vote.

I sincerely thank you for welcoming me :) I've seen swiftkey and yes, it's an excellent app. But one of the problem that I have is that i'm not used to QWERTY layout. I've been using alphanumeric ever since I was born :p (started with a motorola phone that looks like a brick) it seems my qwerty memory disappears when I try to apply it on my phone :( is there any other layout available? alphabetic one will do.

By alphanumeric I assume you mean the number layout with 3 letters per button, where you hit each botton once and the keyboard predicts the word? (As opposed to having to press "2" three times to get a "c".) That's referred to as a T9 keyboard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T9_(predictive_text) I don't use that, but if you search the Play Store for T9 keyboard I know you will find some. Look at ratings and read reviews.

I have tried Ultra keyboard and it's pretty cool! though a bit laggy on my device and so may available settings which confuses me. Have also installed dextr keypad and it's great!!!! I am a leftie and it gives me a choice to switch to left hand layout. will stick to this as of now. this is what i'm looking for, will give feedback again after a month or so. thanks guys!
