This virus has tapped into my phone book and also lists my e-mail addresse's. Message says that it will cost me $500.00 to unlock phone if paid in 3 days otherwise it is triple the cost...I did restart, power off and also removed battery. same FBI message...Help!!!

You could talk to the Malwarebytes support people, they are on top of a lot of ransomware. There are some decrypters available, but I have never heard of ransomware on a cell phone.

I googled "fbi ransomware android" and found iinstructions on how to remove what appears to be your "virus." It seems this virus is known as Trojan Koler and, fortunately your files are probably not encrypted. It locks your screen with a popover browser screen. It goes on to give instructions on how to remove your virus. Good luck and I hope this works for you.

First get your phone powered down, next restart it in safe mode, from your files look at recent downloads find the .apk file you downloaded by mistake, then go to settings/apps and find the app that matches the .apk file and clean the cached data and uninstall, that should get rid of the FBI notice, then get a good virus scanner and run it to finish the clean up

You can Google how to restart it in safe mode every brand phone is different

I've seen video player. apk, pornhub.apk, YouTube player.apk so far, but it should be in the top 5 under recent downloads/files

Hope this is understandable, it really isn't as bad as it looks, but extremely annoying
