help - Manage Apps force closing

When I try to manage my applications I immediately get an error message:
The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. FORCE CLOSE

I have repowered, but continue to get the same message. Any ideas?

Are you using the phone's application manager, or a third party app?

Rooted? Froyo?

Yes - using the phone's app manager.
No - not rooted/froyo

You might need to resort to a bit of ugliness. You might have to do a factory reset.

It's ugly because you'll need to reload all of your apps and settings again.
