Help me decide: Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL

I have the Pixel 2 because I like smaller phone. But I do like the look on the XL better. Two of my friends have the 2 XL and they don't notice the issues everyone's talking about. While the Pixel 2 give me enough battery for one day (I use a lot), the XL is much better on battery life.

A sudden confluence of factors led me to splash out on a phone a couple of weeks ago. (End of contract/ bonus/ ex wife binned my Lumia 950 in a fit of girlish jollity. Actually, she put it in the post. It was all A HILARIOUS wheeze..) I was a little worried that if I spent a huge amount of money on a P2, I'd regret not getting the very best. But I did, and I'm very happy I did. Lovely screen, fine for one handed and the assistant is really useful, even in its Torro wallet case. No problems with battery life, either.

PS there is a good"which should you buy"article in Android Nation.

I was just in BB and stopped by the Pixel display. The blue tint is really weird but I don't think it would bother me. You have to go out of your way to make it look blue. I don't think I would ever notice it.

I kind of forgot about the blue tint problem. Ya..for some reason I think it would stoll bother me. But I'd need to see it.

I just received my 2XL today after having used the Pixel 2 for the past month. Since both phones are basically similar in their capabilities save for the screen and battery, I am not sure if the more beautiful but flawed larger 2XL is worth the extra. I really love the size of the screen with its slight curve. The blue tint on mine is obvious but I'm gonna give it a few more days to see if I can live with it.

While I love the thinner bezels on the 2XL, I miss the size of the Pixel 2 where it feels great in my hands and my only gripe with it really is the thick bezels. These two are expensive items and I am hoping I'll use it for the next few years and the thick bezels on Pixel 2 is somehow making it look more dated than it actually is whereas the 2XL will have a more relevant design moving forward

Well, what stood out to me in your post is that you want a bigger screen/phone; so I would definitely recommend the larger 2 XL.

The rep was sort of right to warn you about screen issues; however, many units do not have said screen issues, or they are way less pronounced than "advertised" on the media.

For example, my friend got his 2 XL about a month ago. He has a very slight blue tint on his phone; but only if he turns his phone to an unusable angle. Otherwise, he's had zero issues with his screen.

Plus, Google is giving out that two-year warranty on their phones in the US; so there is even less "risk" involved. If you see something up with your 2 XL, just swap it for another one! :)

I'm more partial to the 2; but only because I prefer smaller phones and I like its hardware design. But if you are thinking about the 2 XL, I recommend going for it! Worst case scenario, if you decide you'd rather have the 2, you simply return the 2 XL.

Good luck!

I love your 2 XL! I wish the smaller Pixel 2 had the Stormtrooper look... :(.

Although I am now getting the dreaded permanent black screen on phone call.

Removing the gorilla glass screen protector fixes the problem, but, umm, I kind of want to protect my screen.

So I'm leaving things as they are for now in the hope that the proximity sensor sensitivity is fixed in the next point release.
