Help me decide which case to use.

I'm trying to decide which case to use for now on and narrowed it down to two.

I got the Defender. I really like the Defender, but dirt gets in between the screen protector a lot so you have to keep removing it.

The other option is the Incipio Performance Series Level 4. This case is a lot less bulky and doesn't include a screen protector built in but is rated for 13 foot drop protection. I have not found any tempered glass or screen protectors I like so far. The Incipio case has enough of a lip to it but will my phone get scratched up on the screen? My S2 I had years ago I had no screen protector on it and don't recall getting any scratches on the screen during the time I have it. The phone is also GREAT using naked with no screen protector.

Hi there

The Incipio case is rock solid. I would go with that over the otterbox, for the same reasons you described. IMHO.

The screen on the S7 scratches much easier then past phones so some type of protector is a must. The Zagg Curve with the Defender (stock screen removed) was a perfect combination except for the touch sensitivity issues. I'm going to try a few different full coverage glass protectors with the Defender and see what I can come up with.

If your on AT&T the new Active is out. If Verizon had the active, I would be all over it. :p

Zagg curved won't work with incipio case because the case is so form fitting. Maybe the Spigen curved screen protector though. Really only other one i can think of. I will say the Defender is great on this phone though. It makes the phone grippy and easier to handle and use. The narrow cases the phone is still too small for me and difficult to use because of the small size. It's too bad the Defender has crap screen protector. The Incipio level 5 built in screen protector is garbage although it's tightly sealed and no dust gets in, and the level 5 also muffles the sound quality as well which is why I stopped using it. Otherwise it was the perfect case.

I also like how Otterbox improved the Defender for the S7. They used a rubber interior backing that also has the rubber extending up along the ridges on the inside back shell. I've had past Defender cases where these plastic ridges would actually wear into the finish on the sides of the phone over time.

The Defender is also coming out for the edge which I can't wait to try.

I was at Sams today and they had a couple different screen protectors. They had the ZAGG HD glass, the one that has the big halo for $25 which is cheaper than Best Buy and the phone stores but the halo is too severe for me and they had an Incipio stick on protector for $20 but it wasn't glass and I couldn't tell if it covers the whole screen or not. I hate the stick on protectors and for that price I could go on Amazon and buy a multi pack of them for half that price and not lose as much $$ if it doesn't work.

From the pics on their site it looks way too bulky around the sides which covers part of the edges up based on their photos. How does one buy a proper fitting screen protector for the edge? I thought the standard S7 was bad trying to find tempered glass or screen protectors.

We use the Bodyguardz HD Contour on the edges and they work out pretty good. They are a film protector but work OK for the edge.

13 foot drop, screen down, onto concrete without any damage? I'll believe it when I see it and I'm not dreaming. I wouldn't even trust my Defender with that, and I've had it lobbed at a wall at high speed.

I agree. I don't really trust those drop ratings. Now a common drop I would trust these cases like the Defender, Commuter Incipio Level 4 and UAG but falls over 10 feet onto a hard surface I don't think so.

On youtube there is some rich kid who tests a bunch of Iphone 6s and 6's dropping them in cases from 50 feet high. Literally must spend 30k on Iphone's alone in his videos. Some of the cases hold up pretty well and the phone still functions with minimal damage some are totally demolished.

There is a guy on youtube who drops is S6 in a Defender case from ear level and it held up fine however when he threw it hard at the ground a couple times it got cracks in it and wouldn't power on.

I'm getting dirt under my Defender again. I'm thinking just going naked with my level 4 case for now. Most Edge owners don't use a screen protector.

Just use the cheap Spigen Curved Crystal until something better comes along. That's what I'm doing with the Symmetry or UAG cases for now.

I don't understand why samsung put that slight curve on the edges. It does nothing to help with using the phone compared to all the other Galaxys I've had.

It's infuriating. My cheap $11 glass protector has been perfect on my previous phone for 2 years. I even bought a spare I just found in the original packaging.

Make it so.
