Hi I have the lg optimus v for virgin mobile and rooted it probably 4 months ago (ive had it probably 7 months). i rooted it then realized that installing rooms was semi complicated and decided i would just look cool with a rooted phone and no customs than a brick phone. so today i decided to look back into custom roms and found the one i wanted to put on and it didnt seem to complicated so i tried it (the rom is rodimus). i didnt use romtools i used rom manager so i made a back up and went to install rom from sd card it asked what i wanted to do clear cache and data clear dalvin cache and backup this rom. so first i just left it with its standerd which was clear dalvin cache or whatever and it got an error when trying to install. i couldnt read the error because it loaded to fast. then i ran it again and changed it to clear dalvin and data and cache. then it gave me an error again and rebooted with no data or anything so i downloaded rom manager again and restored my back up file and decided to quit. if anyone knows what i did wrong or why this rom wont load onto my phone please leave feed back. i know i am new to this forum but i am not a troll or newb so please leave if your gonna leave rude comments. thanks guys

Did you try to install the rom thru Rom Manager? If so, you aren't supposed to do that with this phone.

dont use rom manager.
wipe/format everything from recovery, if u dont have all the format options look for the debug.zip to format system etc.
then install the rom from recovery.
I recommend the xionia recovery, theres a link in the harmonia 1.6 thread, 2 easy ways to flash recovery
1. goto the recovery rom manager d/l'd in a file explorer then goto rename the file and then copy the name, and rename it.
download xionia place it in that folder and goto rename then paste so it replaces that recovery img. now tell rom manager to flash the Optimus V recovery and it doesnt know the difference.
2 puttthe recovery in sdcard root rename it ehatever say easy.img
goto terminal type su (allow if not already) type flash_image recovery /sdcard/easy.img

i did try to install it through the terminal at first and it said flash_image not found. and did not recognize the rest of the command.

You need to install your rom while in recovery.

Did you install a recovery yet? If not, then you need to install Clockworkmod recovery through Rom Manager. That's it. Don't do anything else with Rom Manager.

Hold down the power key, volume down and the home key at the same time and you will be in recovery. From there, you want to install a zip file, so choose that when you see the recovery menu. Use the volume keys to navagate, camera to select and the back key to go back a menu. From there, you will see a list of files. When you see your rom zip file, select it and flash it. Flash Google apps (or "gapps") after that. Once that's done, reboot. The initial boot time once you install a new rom can take up to fifteen minutes, so do not panic if your rom takes a while to boot up.

i think i figured out why it wasnt working. it said something about the rom being 1.5 and im running on 2.2

No. The 1.5 signifies the version of the rom you are using. It has nothing to do with the version of Froyo you have currently on your phone.

oh well it wouldnt let me install rodimus but it installed harmonia and its loading the boot logo as wee speak. didnt ask for any files to add though. kinda worried. btw how do i get all my contacts and apps and **** back onto my phone once its back on?

use esexplorer.
settings- root/tick write to system.
romanagers clockwork mod was wierd the home and menu
key make the menus vanish, later I figured out I had to use the camera key.
=P

yeah my methods are not so simple, just listen to Pandacookie LOL

learn some Debian etch that might make the shell make more sense =)
or not

lol yeah well its still on the boot screen for aprodiate+ harmonia or whatever. not sure if thats bad or not lol.

Congrats on installing Harmonia! It is much more current than Rodimus and it gets updated frequently. Don't worry about your contacts and whatnot. Google saves them for you. Once you sign in after the phone boots up (just like you had to when you first got the phone), Google will restore your contacts and everything.

lol i need to find something to do now gonna die staring at my phone waiting for it to finish lol
