So here's the deal:
I currently have AT&T with an unlimited data
I really want the G-NEX but am not sure about if AT&T
Is gonna get it anytime soon. And even if they do I doubt it
Will be LTE. Currently I'm using an iPhone 3G which lags and is super slow

My questions: is LTE all that much faster than HSPA + ?(assuming AT&T gets this phone with that and not LTE)
also if this phone comes out during this 4 gigs data got the price of 2 gigs: is it worth giving up my AT&T unlimited data?
I live outside Phoenix AZ so both companies have good reception so that's not a worry of mine and the prices are about the same a month so no worries there

Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you all

I'm not on AT&T, but I can tell you what I would do in your case.

-Do you tether? If not, then a data limit may not hurt you.
-From what I heard, HSPA+ is really good. Some would say (Tankgirl-if you follow her) that HSPA+ is the only thing you need for a mobile phone. LTE is great if you use a dongle and PC.
-AT&T will most likely get the nexus if you can wait. You can also get an unlocked version with AT&T bands.

Good luck,
chris

I agree that HSPA+ is good enough for a mobile device. But I also believe that 4GB is a lot of data. If you don't come close to that now, then it should be a good deal for you.

As far as data goes I do security so I use my phone to stream iheartradio (not impressed with the new one btw)
And use my phone for my Internet need since I currently don't have Internet or wifi at home.
As far as tethering goes no I don't have it cuz I was told by AT&T that it would cancel my unlimited data
I will check today how much I use on average.

Freeze my account? What does that do exactly?

...My questions: is LTE all that much faster than HSPA + ?(assuming AT&T gets this phone with that and not LTE)…

It's not even a close comparison. LTE runs circles around +HSPA, calling it bad names the whole time.

Can't advise you on choice cuz that's yout $$, that's in question. Also, I have no idea what your monthly data is, but I will say this, should you switch. The GN is the perfect device for someone on that kind of plan w/ VzW. It gives you much more control over background apps & processes. That's the only LTE smartphone I would recommend anyone pick up on a 4gb data plan.

One thing to remember too is that LTE speed will vary in areas. I only pull 5 down maybe 3 up in the Tampa area on a Thunderbolt. I use mine frequently and tether to my tablet at work and I've never gone over 6gb. So I know that with wifi on at home and just smart monitoring you can stay below 4gb fine.

I would stay with Att and unlimited data just to be safe. There are two lte phones and the sky rocket is very similar specd as the nexus.

I concur. As far as data goes, use wifi when you are at home and don't stream like mad when you aren't at home and you should be fine. You always could call AT&T and ask your avergae data use for the last 3/6/9/12 months. That should give you a pretty good idea how much you'd use with a different carrier.

You could switch to Verizon and get a cheaper data package than the biggest 2gb/month...im not sure what it is, but i know they offer 200mb and i think 1gb...that would probably be a good idea depending on the cheaper and how much data you use

*Edit*** then get the double data deal...im almost tempted to get rid of my unlimited data for a cheaper version since i dont use much a month. My market isnt 4G yet, but i dont see how faster speeds will make me view more content a month so ill probably look into switching if they allow you to keep your double data limit for a significant amount of time

Keep in mind that Verizon is doubling downloading limits in a promotion until January (?).
