yes its called the MR1 auto root method, its pretty easy and i used it and this was the first device i have rooted... the link is in this thread at the top with the stickies but ill post it here.. http://forums.androidcentral.com/th...unroot-windows-updated-5-20-w-mr1-update.html ... before you attempt it tho make sure you READ! everything and have a good understanding of what you are doing and are comfortable with doing... as always, there is a chance of bricking your device however that isnt the responsibility of me or anybody here, but if you follow the instructions you should be fine

also, a lot of people will advise using the manual method, which of course is a little more difficult and time consuming, however it will give you a better understanding of exactly what you are doing to ur phone and if something goes wrong you may know where it went wrong and get help on how to fix it... like i said this is the first device i rooted and i used the auto method, but i read all of the steps on the manual method and everything that i possibly could before doing so.

Got my thunderbolt Sunday, had it rooted yesterday. Even after taking the newest OTA. Like mentioned, read everything twice and follow directions to a T. Its really simple.
I used this guide, but its the same everywere.
