Every night, my MT4G will drain to 0% battery life and shut down, which causes serious problems because I have always used my phone as my alarm. I've charged it up to 100% prior to bed and this still occurs.

I don't have many accounts syncing (gmail, exchange, htc weather clock, facebook once every 2 hours) and I have battery saver set to engage and shut everything down at 15% battery life.

What could be causing this? Any advice?

Thanks

1. Letting your battery go completely dead will cause battery damage.
2. HTC Weather Clock... reduce the Update Schedule.

Consider using a program like Ring Scheduler to put your device in Airplane mode at night... first, it lets me sleep... second, alarms go off as scheduled even in Airplane mode... and finally, it saves battery life if you take your device off the charger prior to getting up in the morning.

You think the weather updating once per hour could be causing the phone to go from 100% charged to dead in 8 hours while on standby?

Shouldn't the battery saver feature stop this from happening?

You must be a former Blackberry user... Standby... your device is still syncing email, updating facebook and twitter if you have it setup to do that, updating weather and doing all kinds of things. That is why I recommended Ring Scheduler to put your device in Airplane mode over night, unless you need to be woke up in the middle of the night with a SMS or email.

It's hard to know what your device is doing since I can only go by what you say you have on your device and what you say you are doing with it. I just gave you some recommendations... if you want to follow them or not is totally up to you... give them a try and see what happens over a couple days of testing.
