Help! My nexus 7 won't install 4.2 update.

Exact same problem here. If I factory reset it, it'll eventually tell me there's an update, but the update fails the same.

I also starting having a problem where I can't 'quick' charge while the device is powered on. It doesn't detect that I'm plugged up to a power source. It'll trickle charge if connected to a PC and the Nexus is on.

Called ASUS, did some basic troubleshooting then they told me to call back in 2-4 hours and hopefully their RMA system will be online. Jesus.

Damn any luck with that? Did you happen to ever have to send your nexus 7 in to Asus for a repair? A few months ago mine was stuck in a boot loop, id try and turn it on and it would just stay stuck on the Google logo and nothing I tried would work, so I eventually sent it in and they were able to recover it. When I got it back I was trying to update it and that when all this started. Idk if Asus recovering it has anything to do with it. But that's all I can think of because when I first got it there was an update to 4.1.1 and that worked fine.

I was rooted at the time the 4.2 update came in and I ended up in an error all the time and it was because some of the default os files were replaced by busy box app and may be some other so I had to make a backup and install a fresh 4.1 and then the update went fine.
