help! my phone thinks im in egypt!!

i just rooted my phone and everything seems to be working fine except for my phone now thinks im in egypt. all locations are checked, tried rebooting, nothings worked so far. htc weather, google maps and weather bug are all pretty certain im on the other side of the world.

I agree with Hockeypuck55, not only is this a sense issue, this is a loooooooong running sense issue. My HTC Hero used to think i was in California sometimes. My HTC EVO used to think i was in Canada sometimes. I used to laugh because i live in NY and it would tell me it was 70 degrees and sunny in Febuary ..... huh!! It was 4 degrees and a blizzard out!

If you want a quick fix you can ditch the HTC clock/weather widget and use something like fancy widget or goweather and that *should* set you straight. Don't get me wrong, you paid for an HTC phone and should get to enjoy sense so HTC should fix it, I'm merely suggesting a workaround

It's not just the weather app, its every app that uses my location. The maps don't work either so the gps is useless

Oh, bummer. My issues on the Hero and EVO were restricted to only the HTC stuff which basically means the weather widget. Maps or any other location based service worked perfectly fine.

found something that sounded about the same issue as i had, he said he was able to fix it by reflashing. guess it was s-on both times. not really sure but gonna give it a shot.

I had to reflash as well, Mine is working better... SO Far that was just this AM

I don't think now that HTC will ever have this resolved. I had this problem as well on my Incredible and HTC told me it was on their side with the Incredible and the ERIS go figure. Am seeing a lot more HTC users having this problem. I wasn't about to wait and not have my weather be correct. I have fancy Widget and it is perfect. Everything else on sense is perfect. I actually am glad to have the Fancy Widget. There are so many clock skins and weather skins to choose from and different clock sizes too. It is well worth the 1.99 and not to mention it gets my location right all the time. And weather condition too.

Same. Google Maps and other locations are fine. HTC widgets have me in Italy haha

Download GPS Status from the market and reset your GPS + update the AGPS data.
