Help, Need to retrieve data from broken phone.

Hello, i have got a samsung s3 and i have had this phone for a few years now however i cracked the phone and as a result i can not see anything or touch anything on the screen. However i would like to receive my data from the phone but when i connect the phone to the laptop the phone is registered as a camera device. Is there anyway i can change it to a media device?
