Help Needed-Phone LCD Broken, Need Files

My phone (galaxy s2 att) LCD screen randomly broke inside. The phone works but the screen does not show anything. I need the files inside, however there is a pattern lock so nothing shows up when I connect it to the computer. Should i find a way to bypass the lock? Or should I try to control my phone from my computer through androidscreencast.jnlp? Please help

If I understand correctly, the screen is responsive but just doesn't show anything. If so, just try to estimate where the pattern lock is on the lock screen and unlock the phone.
