Help, new problem opening photos or videos

When I receive an email and download the file, I am now unable to open it. When I click on it the screen just dims. When I go to the download file and try from there same ting happens with no options from where to open, it used to work?? Any advice would be appreciated, have had Xoom for over 6 months no other problems.

When your screen dims, rotate it so your screen rotates. That should do it.
