Haven't seen post under Fascinate forum for installing Flash Player. I did find instructions under the Captivate thread and installed it, but got Flash 9.1.122 and can't get it to update to a newer version. Any thoughts or help on udgrading to 10.1 under Eclair?

So do you have the Flash Player app and it is still at version 9.1.122. If so I would suggest uninstalling the app and getting Flash Player 10.1 from the Market. After you download that, open you browser, hit the menu soft key and go =>more=>settings=>enable plug-ins and choose on demand.

If you're trying to get full Flash, you'll need to upgrade to Froyo. Unless there is a Flash 10.1 Lite version that you're trying to get? But I could have sworn that version number was reserved for full Flash only..

I've been searching the market but it won't bring up any Flash player except something called SWF player from issess

Sorry, my eyes are getting tired from reading so many posts. I missed the last part of your first post where you said you were on Eclair. The only way I know of to get Flash Player on the Fascinate is on Froyo. That is one of the reasons everyone is so anxious to get Froyo.

Oh, ya I missed it, you can't get flash player 10.1 on eclair. You'll need froyo for that. You can find stickies for it in the rooting roms and hacks section, as well as over at XDA developers.

Edit:
Sharky type a little slower so I can get back to someone first for once LOL

Being a noob, have been leery of self-installing froyo. Not sure which of the versions listed I need/want and don't know what program to use to back-up apps and stuff (or how to save to laptop if need be.) Still keep going over the instructions in the stickies to make sure it will make sense when I DO get to it. Thanks for the quick replies all!

yeah, the Fascinate comes with Flash Lite. If you want full Flash 10.1, you're out of luck until you root or get the update. There's a browser in the market called Skyfire that's good for playing flash videos on phones without 2.2 or higher.

If you're really unsure but still want to take the plunge, DroidXcon's all-in-one ODIN packages are the easiest thing to do. With just a few simple steps on your part you will be rooted, have Froyo, and working clockworkmod recovery. And there is a ton of support here for any questions or problems you come across. Just in case you might have not been sure which sticky I am talking about it is this one: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ged-roms-w-root-clockwork-updated-3-04-a.html

Thanks or the update. Hopefully the browser thing is just because you just upgraded and with use will get faster. My phone was absolutely lightning fast on 2.8 and now that I am on 2.9 it is unbelievable and stable as heck too.

Felt stupid today when I realized Ihad installed the first version, not 2.9...but in the apps list display the text is completely screwed (looks like the letters are stretched/distorted and the app/file names are mostly behind the icon. Have tried changing the font styles but still comes out weird. The main pages and everything else display fine. Love everything else so far.

The after market flip fonts don't seem to work with the app drawer. It's the launcher. In ADW the fonts all show up fine. Switch fonts or switch launchers would be your fix.
