Help! Phone wont go past AT&T screen

help! My phone wont go past the AT&T start up screen. It doesn't show up on my computer either when I connect it via usb. I don't know how to fix it. I can't afford to buy a new phone. HELP!!!

have you tried pulling out the battery while it was on and then starting it up again?

yes, nothing happens. now when I plug it in to the charger, it shows the battery, but doesn't show it charging like normal. and when I unplug it, it just keeps the battery picture on the screen.

I just turned it off. I didn't do anything.

well that's my limit of expertise lol. i've never had an issue that just removing the battery didn't clear up. there are some recovery modes, etc, but i don't know anything about those.

just to be clear, your device is a samsung captivate? what about calling at&t, on another phone of course. you might also try searching the forums.

I just turned it off. I didn't do anything.
