Let's tackle the problem with videos that you recorded on your SGSIII first:
Are you using the stock camera app?
What resolution are you recording at?uploadfromtaptalk1368980209200.jpgYou do realize that the lower the resolution you record at, the more grainy/pixelated the video will appear to be? Edit: note that there's also a video quality setting that affects how grainy/pixelated the video will be:

Regarding the videos sent from the iPhone - you obviously can't control what resolution those videos were recorded at, but it sounds like it was a very low resolution. The reason for that is most likely related to the size of the actual video file: the higher the resolution, the bigger the file will be. At some point, depending on how long the video is, it becomes impossible/impractical to send the file via MMS or email, which is why a lower resolution is used.
You could ask the iPhone person to record at a higher resolution, and then to use something like Dropbox (or any other cloud service that you both have access to) to host the file on.

Welcome to Android Central! If the videos were sent via MMS (texting), the video files were compressed in order to fit, because MMS has a maximum attachment filesize of about 1 MB. Compressing any video file down to 1 MB will seriously degrade the image. There is not decompression software on the receiving end to make the resolution better. The better way to send videos is to upload it to YouTube or Google Photos, then share the link privately.

Remember that iOS devices can send videos full resolution because they use iMessage, a proprietary iOS app. It doesn't work on Android.
