Help please!(:(ROOT ISSUE)

Hi, I recently got the HTC One V and I had NO problems unlocking the bootloader but I get lost whilst rooting my device. I have the r1-primo-superboot with the custom boot.superboot, I put my device into HBOOT mode and then click fastboot and connect my device to the computer, I then click install-superboot-windows, and it go to HTC screen with red writing, and then restarts, I go to my phone, and I didn't have the SuperSU app, so I went to the playstore, downloaded it and repeated the process mentioned above, and then I go to the app, and it says I don't have an SU Binary installed, and I can't tell if my phone is rooted or not. Please help me, I am phone illiterate and have been trying for three days. My other phone I just downloaded an app, and it did this all for me!.

It doesn't sound like you are rooted. What recovery do you have on the phone? Is the superboot file a zip? (I did not use this file to root). Your exploit should be a zip file that needs to be ran in recovery.
