Help! Restarting issue!

My phone went dead tonight. I plugged it in to charge for a couple minutes, and turned it on. Ever since, it has been restarting over & over & over. I can't do anything! I read somewhere to hold the power & down volume key to get to a menu where maybe i can fix it. But when I get to that menu, what should I do? Clear data? Will that delete my phone numbers? Help please!

I have one doing the same thing. Never fought with it to try to get it fixed though. Good luck!
