Help rooting Droid 2 (not global) from 2.33

Having a problem rooting my wifes Droid 2. I was using Petes Root tool and it said it was done, but when I went to use titanium backup it says it can't get root rights, any thoughts?

I'm also trying to get it back to froyo so I can run other root tools but nothing is working, all the SBF links are to multi-upload which is down.

Please help.
