Help rooting my galaxy s5 (model SM - G900R7)

Hi everyone! I am looking for ways to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900R7. It's running Android version 5.0 and my carrier is NTelos. I've looked at One Click Root in the past, but it didn't seem very reliable so I decided to come here. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello and welcome to Android Central wecanfly!

I am afraid that I can find no rooting methods for the G900R7 on Android 5.0. It would seem that all firmwares since 3rd June 2014 have been unrootable. Rukbat, an ambassador on this forum, seems to recommend iRoot in his post, here.

Thank you so much! Would you recommend downgrading to 4.4 and if so is that possible when the original hardware is 5.0?

If you can successfully downgrade, then try the known rooting methods for 4.4.2. Unfortunately, some U.S. carriers prevent downgrading in an effort to make their firmwares unrootable.
