What to do. I don't have nexus protect. It's a 128gb Frost. Should I try to sell it what are my options.

Decided to document the process so that if anyone else had this same issue they will know exactly what to do and what the options are.

Update. I got the phone back today. Huawei did an amazing job it came back to me so clean I couldn't tell if it was a new phone or my old phone with a new screen.

You could take it to a local repair shop and see if they can fix it.

You can always ask Google. They did one time replacements of the Nexus 6 even if you had it longer than the return period.

Just called them and they called Huawei. And I have to go through them for the hardware warranty. Google will not cover hardware problems without nexus protect

Your right. This year is different. Last year or whenever it was, you could replace one no questions asked. Maybe it was because Google still owned Motorola at the time.

Huawei charges $149 for a replacement LCD with labor and it came to $195 for me after taxes and shipping. I was told to call back with the ticket number after the order says completed. It's in processing stage now.

Who is your cell phone provider?

When you get it back, do a good quality control check. Huawei fixed my glass, but the earpiece didn't work when I got it back. So be sure and check everything.

That sucks I have I few highend phones. They all have caeses I just don't drop my phone's i m so careful it's scary. I always make sure I have a good grip on my devices when I'm taking them out my pocket.and I never get out the car with my phone in hand always in pocket. I buy a lot of phones a can't afford to insure them all

Did you get it back yet? If so, everything good as new?

Well that's a $200 lesson, next time get Nexus Protect.

It's not really that different,

Worry-free claims process

It's easy to stay connected. File a claim with our partner Assurant Solutions by phone or atmynexusprotect.com, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Claims are subject to a $79 deductible and up to 2 incidents of accidental damage coverage for 2 years.

So it's basically a $30 difference as far as I can see. If you never bought Nexus protect you'd be up $79.
