Help! T-Mobile vs AT&T on Cricket, please??!!??

I'm buying a phone to use on Cricket. I can get either one at the same price:

AT&T branded Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (doesn't need unlock)
T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (friend will unlock for free)

Which phone is better?

I don't want to "root" either phone, and I won't be travelling much. I just want a sleek, efficient phone to run all kinds of Apps (I love apps!)

If you're sure either one would work with your carrier I'd go with the T-Mobile one. A little more active in updates than AT&T and with the ability to root (even if you have no intention) could mean more value later on should you decide to sell it. Looking at Swappa for example, the T-Mobile variant sells for more than the AT&T one does used.

I would get the AT&T version as Cricket is on AT&T network.

I did the same and using the att note 4 on cricket. That's what I would go with
