Since installing the lollipop upgrade I have one app GroceryIQ that constantly crashes. I have contacted their support and they are absolutely useless. They told me it was not an app problem but a device problem. Maybe they can explain why all my other apps work fine, and why their app worked until I upgraded to lollipop. Anyway

My phone is an LG G3 running Android 5.0.1
Internal Memory 32GB (Free 19.43GB)
SD Memory 128GB (Free 115GB)

In addition I performed the following troubleshooting:
1) Cleared GroceryIQ data and cache
2) Uninstalled GroceryIQ
3) Rebooted phone
4) Reinstalled GroceryIQ

The app appeared to work properly
Then I performed the following steps:
A) Entered my account details
B) Clicked the button to return to the app
C) Grocery IQ crashed
D) From this point on the app constantly crashes

If I go back and perform steps 1-4 the app will operate, until I perform steps A-D
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Thanks

When they said it's a device problem, what it really means is that it's probably a device compatibility problem. Which means it's an app issue, since they would need to tweak the code to make sure it works on the phone. Which might take a while for them to do anyway, so you'll probably just have to wait, or try a different app.

Another possibility is that you have another app that might be causing a conflict. But to figure that out, you'd have to uinstall apps one by one and keep trying the GroceryIQ app each time (which would be very tedious). You could consider going to your local wireless store and install the app on their display G3, and see if it works there. You could uninstall all 3rd party apps from the display phone while you're there, in case it still crashes.

That says it all. In 4.4.2 on the Note 3, it opens, but in order to change panels, you have to close it, then open it again. I notified them about that months ago. The best I got was the ueual "clear cache, clear data, reinstall" guesses. They're probably not a large enough company (or a large enough software department) to do extensive bug-tracing. Shame - great app. Especially in stores you're new to, when you have the aisles arranged in order.

@B. Diddy:
Tried that on a new stock ROM. There are bugs in the app in newer versions of Android.

I agree, it is a great app but they have absolutely no clue for software support.

It is definitely an app issue, whether it is compatibility with the phone or android OS, only GroceryIQ crashes. Plus the clue should have been the app worked fine on 4.4.2 but crashes on 5.0.1. That tells me it is an OS issue.
Besides, I have been reporting other bugs for years now and they have not updated the app once.

If there is no way to work around the problem, can anyone recommend a similar Grocery App?
Thanks
