I'm hoping to get some help with something I'd like to try with my Nexus. I've had a program for several years that coverts DVD's to WMV format. I used it it convert movies to view on my old PDA's and it works pretty well. I've loaded the coverted movie, The Green Mile, on to my Nexus and it plays just fine and although it isn't HD quality, it's perfectly acceptable for viewing.

I've read somewhere that it's possible to attach a thumb drive or USB card reader to the micro USB port on the Nexus and use it as storage for such things. I have the adapter cable already and was wondering if anyone could point me to a thread or somewhere that gives step by step "for dummies" type instructions for doing what needs to be done to make this work.

I've converted several movies that I've never watched that I'd like to be able to view on the Nexus without having to load them all into it's memory, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Nexus Media Importer - instructions on their Google Play page. As they explain, you'll need a player like BSPlayer or MX Player. Hope this helps.

Working on getting funds to manufacture a small MicroSD to MicroUSB adapter so you can read a MicroSD directly without the need of a OTG cable + USB flash (or Microsd to USB adapter). It works great using Media Importer to read from the SD card without the need or rooting.

It is currently live at indiegogo.com (search for MicroSD and you will find it) I can't post links yet.
