Help with aosp 2.3.3 GB and activation.

I hope I can post this here....Well as of recently as we all now we have had some 3G issues again. Well mine started working again but has been going from x1 to 3G intermittantly. I called VM and they told me to do the ##487446## thing to activate or reactivate or something. Well it looks like with CM7 and this aosp 2.3.3 rom it doesnt go into the VM mode to do this. What options do I have? Is there a VM activation app? I was thinking about backing up and putting in a new SDcard then reinstalling my old froyo backup then doing it. Do I have any other option? I wonder if it will help or is it the network thats on the fritz again? Refreshing the activation is the fix? Any comments? Thanks!

Yeah if you are needing to reactivate or anything you are going to have to revert back to an old back up that has the stock apps or flash back to a stock rom. And my 3g is working fine.

VM customer service's solution for everything is to first tell you to pull the battery while telling you they reset something on their end (which could just be BS). Then, reactivating your phone by editing the MSN/MSID to random #s and then back again to your ph#. This has never actually fixed data issues for me, but maybe it has for others.
