I currently have a Galaxy S7 with a broken screen. I have pictures and videos of my daughter that I really need to get off the phone. What is the best method. I cannot power on the phone and enter my pin to unlock the phone. I tried this connector thinking I could connect a USB mouse/keyboard and an HDMI cable so I can connect it to my computer monitor and see what is on the screen but the connector didn't work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KW4MKM...20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6778582#technical-data The micro USB connection isn't the same as its an MHL connection and not a micro USB 2.0. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to retrieve the data without spending 200 bucks to repair the phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you sure the phone is actually turning on? Does it make any sound, or do you feel it vibrate?

Yes the LCD and the touchscreen are broken, it dropped and cracked years ago, and "bled" and I have since upgraded multiple phone but I want the pictures and videos that were not stored on the sd card. I can charge the phone and it will vibrate when I receive an email as it can still connect to the wifi but the screen is completely black so I can't unlock, I can't swipe or anything.

unfortunately, I don't have a spare phone that would work the same, similar in size and whatnot. I would love to have a connector that works similar to the one I posted earlier. but I only found one that works with galaxy s3 or s4.
