My stock camera app will not open, it crashes whenever I go to open it. I am able to use third party apps but the quality is grainy and poor. I am only able to use the front facing and the wide angle cameras but I am not able to switch the main rear camera. I am not sure if that's because apps don't have the feature to switch between rear cameras. I have tried many things to resolve this myself. I have restarted my phone, cleared the data and cache from the app and a factory reset. All to the same result of not working. My guess now is that the main camera failed which causes the app not to work. But do the wide lens and the main camera work together but being one is not functioning causes the poor quality? I don't want to have to buy a new camera module and have the issue still be there. Anyone else going through this? And did you end up solving the issue?

I'm afraid I don't know about how the two different camera lenses work together. I guess the phone is no longer under warranty, right?

I hooked it up to LGUP and reinstalled its current firmware. I tried setting it back to factory stock but it would give me an error. I tried the LG bridge software but it doesn't recognize my phone.

This is getting into very unfamiliar territory for me, sorry. Are you certain the firmware you used was for the exact G5 variant you have? Does LGUP automatically detect it and select the correct firmware?

Oh sorry, not trying to be difficult here. I appreciate your help thus far. Yes its correct, I crossed checked from the LG website. LGUP does recognize my phone. I then select from 3 different options, refurbish, upgrade and OTA upgrade. I choose upgrade because refurbish gives me an error.

You're not being difficult at all -- it's just that I don't have direct experience with the LGUP program.:)

If you don't get a good answer here, try also in the forums at XDA-Developers.com, which is a good resource for more technical questions like yours. Good luck!
